Hawks Heritage Round Wrap

Heritage Round has come to a close with some great new memories created and the Hawks pride and spirit on display to inspire our current generation of players and our up and coming junior players. During the week leading up to the game we posted some fantastic photos of past Hawks teams and interviews with past Hawks greats Tanya Kelly and Ryan Gardiner.

As part of Heritage Round our SBL teams wore their retro uniforms to play against the East Perth Eagles on Sunday. The uniforms listed all the names of all Hawks SBL players from 1989 to present on the back.  The players change rooms were decorated with inspirational photos of past championship teams and to make the day even more special both our teams had wins:  (MSBL) 98 to 88  (WSBL) 104 to 47.

Robbie Cassir received his award for 250 SBL games and Ben Purser equalled the club record for the number of games played by a MSBL player for the Hawks reaching a milestone 317 games.

We had some great interviews at half time with Hawks legend Tanya Kelly and former championship winning coach Rick Morcom during the Lady Hawks match and former SBL player and Hawks WSBL coach CJ Jackson during the men’s game.

All our past players and coaches were invited to the game free and it was great to see them in the stands supporting our teams.

Thank you to all those who attended the game and remember for all those past players and coaches we have set up a special page for you to re-connect with the Hawks  Hawks Past and Present

Hawks as One!
