Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association Appoints Ryan Rogers as Chief Executive Officer
Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association (PLHBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Rogers as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a significant milestone in the Association’s continued growth and commitment to being a leading basketball association in Western Australia.
Ryan joins Perry Lakes Hawks with extensive experience across basketball administration, business leadership, commercial growth, operational management and community sport development. His appointment reflects the Association’s focus on strengthening governance, growing participation, building sustainable financial performance and creating an inclusive, values-led environment for players, coaches, officials, families and the broader PLHBA community.
The newly created CEO role has been established to lead our already successful Association to the next level in delivering its mission to create inclusive pathways, grow participation and develop people through basketball, while supporting its vision of leading basketball in the West through participation, development and connection.
As Ryan commences, it is important to recognise the ongoing commitment and contribution of our General Manager Jenny Purser. Jenny is an integral part of our club and will remain central to our Association’s operations and will support Ryan as he transitions into this newly created role. We also take this opportunity to extend our thanks to all our staff and volunteers who continue to work tirelessly so those who want to can play basketball!
Ryan brings a strong record of organisational leadership, transformation and growth, most recently as General Manager of Bulleen-Templestowe Basketball Association in Victoria. During his tenure, he strengthened commercial performance and participation pathways, improved efficiencies, increased sponsorship and launched new tournaments and community programs.
Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association Interim Chair Blake Whitby, said Ryan’s appointment represents an important step forward for the Association.
“Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association has a rich history and strong foundation of success, Ryan’s
experience, commercial acumen and genuine passion for basketball makes him the right leader to help us take our next big step forward.”
“The Board has been clear in its desire to build a strong, sustainable and future-focused Association, and Ryan brings both the basketball knowledge and business discipline required to help us deliver on that vision.”
As CEO, Ryan will focus on building and implementing a clear and practical strategic plan, growing participation, supporting staff and volunteers, enhancing development pathways and identifying new commercial opportunities.
Ryan said he is honoured to be joining Perry Lakes Basketball Association at such an important time in its history.
“Perry Lakes has an outstanding history, a proud community and enormous potential. To be appointed as the Association’s first CEO is a privilege and an opportunity I take very seriously. My initial focus will be on listening, learning and working closely with the Board, staff, members and wider PLHBA community to shape the strategy moving forward.”
