Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia’s official introductory program. It provides a fun and inclusive Basketball experience for 4 to 10 year olds that serves as an introduction to a lifetime of involvement in the game. In addition to promoting healthy and active lifestyles, the program serves as a platform for social development and inclusion, fostering stronger and more vibrant communities and individuals.

The program will have 7 sessions across the school term.

An Aussie Hoops singlet is part of the registration fee and will be handed out during the first session.

In Term 3 of 2025, Hawks Aussie Hoops will run the below sessions.

Wednesdays

  • 4 – 7 Year Olds (Beginner) – Wednesday 4.00 – 4.45 pm
    • This session is designed for players in the youngest Aussie Hoops range, from 4 – 7 years old. The goal of the beginner session is to get new players excited and familiar with the game of basketball and teach them the basic skills necessary to prepare them to graduate into an intermediate session or our U8 Miniball Skill Sessions. This session is run with the lower, 8-foot rings.
    • Each participant must be from 4 years of age to 7 years of age from the sessions start date.
  • 7 – 10 Year Olds (Beginner) – Wednesday 5.00 – 5.45 pm
    • This session is designed for players who are slightly older kids, spanning from 7 – 10 years old. The goal of the beginner session is to get new players excited and familiar with the game of basketball and teach them the basic skills necessary to prepare them to graduate into an intermediate session or our Junior Domestic Competition. This session is run with the lower, 8-foot rings.
    • Each participant must be from 7 years of age to 10 years of age from the sessions start date.

Program Fees

  • Aussie Hoops Participant Fee – $83.10
  • Aussie Hoops Singlet – $35.00
  • Basketball WA Player Fee – $12.42
  • Basketball Australia Player Fee – $4.48

Total per participant = $135.00 + PlayHQ transaction fee of 1.49%
