Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association Welcomes CEO Corey Ranger
Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Corey Ranger as its Chief Executive Officer.
Corey brings more than a decade of senior leadership experience in community sport, most recently as Head of WA Football Juniors, where he oversaw Australia’s largest junior football competition, supporting a portfolio of over 40,000 participants and 10,000 volunteers across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. Prior to that role, he served as Head of Club Development & Volunteers and as an RDC Executive Officer with the West Australian Football Commission, where he was responsible for designing and delivering the Champion Club Program, the WA Football Volunteer Strategy, and a number of the organisation’s flagship community events.
Across his career, Corey has built a reputation for strong stakeholder engagement, sound governance, and a genuine commitment to growing community sport from the ground up — expertise he now brings to the Hawks.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association,” Corey said. “This is a club with an enviable reputation of community first, and Hawks as One. I’m looking forward to building on these strengths, working alongside our staff, volunteers and members, and putting leadership and community at the centre of everything we do.”
Corey said he saw significant opportunity ahead for the club. “There’s a lot to be proud of here already, and I see great opportunities for us to grow together — on and off the court. I can’t wait to get started, meet the people who make this club what it is, and become part of the Hawks community.”
Chair Blake Whitby welcomed Corey to the role, noting his blend of strategic capability and genuine passion for community sport made him the ideal fit to lead the Hawks into their next chapter.
“Corey’s track record speaks for itself — he’s a proven leader who knows how to build strong governance, grow participation, and bring people together around a shared purpose,” Blake said. “Corey will bring energy and vision with people at the forefront of everything he does. He genuinely understands what makes community sport thrive, and I have no doubt he’ll be a fantastic leader for our club as we head into this next chapter.”
Corey will commence his role on Monday, 14 September.
