Board Nominations Now Open

NOTICE FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS

The Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association (PLHBA) is now calling for Board of Directors Nominations for 2026.

Board nominations MUST be received no later than Sunday 1st March 2026, 5pm. This deadline is strict, with no late nominations able to be accepted.

There are 3 vacant Elected Directorships up for nomination, each for a two-year term.

Nominations are hereby called for 2026 board positions.

For a Board Nomination to be valid, a Nominee MUST also be a PLHBA Ordinary Member.

Ordinary Memberships (including payment) MUST be received via email at:

The deadline is Sunday 1st March 2026, 5pm, to be considered for a Board Nomination. This is a strict deadline.

For members who re-joined in 2025, your membership period has been extended until the 31st of March 2026.  You do not need to re-join to vote at the upcoming AGM.  If you would like to confirm your membership, please contact the secretary at PLHSecretary@hawksbasketball.com.au

Eligibility for Ordinary Membership

  1. Any person who supports the objects or purposes of the Association is eligible to apply to become a member.
  2. An individual who has not reached the age of 18 years is not eligible to apply for a class of membership that confers full voting rights.
  3. All members that are, prior to the approval of these rules under the Act, members of the Association, shall be deemed to be members for the purposes of these rules, from the time of approval of these rules under the Act.

 Types of membership

  • Ordinary Membership – Can be Present, Can ask Questions, Can Vote & Can hold 1 Proxy Vote only
  • Affiliated Clubs – Can be Present, Can ask Questions & Can Vote
  • Senior Playing Members – Can be Present, Can ask Questions, No Vote
  • Junior Playing Members – Can be Present, No Questions, No Vote
  • Life Members – Can be Present, Can ask Questions, No Vote

You can have at most two votes:

  • One as an Ordinary Member (your own membership), and
  • One as a proxy for another Ordinary Member or as a representative of your Affiliated Club

You cannot have two votes in your own right (e.g., from two different memberships or classes). The limit is strictly one vote per membership, plus one proxy vote.

The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Monday 30th March 2026.

The formal Notice of AGM will be advertised on the 8th March 2026.
