Damian Barr Steps Down as Head Coach of Perry Lakes Hawks Men’s Program

After two seasons leading the Perry Lakes Hawks Men’s NBL1 program, Head Coach Damian Barr has made the decision not to seek reappointment for the upcoming 2026 NBL1 season.

We extend our sincere thanks to Damian and his family for their dedication to the club and the NBL1 program. The countless hours spent behind the scenes have not gone unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate the commitment and passion Damian brought to the role.

Damian shared:
“I’d like to thank the players, coaching staff, manager, the club and its volunteers for their incredible support and commitment. After much consideration, I’ve decided it’s the right time for me to step away and prioritise my family. I wish the group every success moving forward.”

Hawks General Manager Jenny Purser added:
“Damian has worked with this young group over the past two years, helping develop them into NBL1-level players. Thank you, Damian, for your hard work and commitment—and to Freya and Astrid for sharing Damian with us during this time. Enjoy your well-earned family time.”
