
Perry Lakes Hawks Appoint Marcus Embury as Women’s Head Coach for 2026 & 2027
The Perry Lakes Hawks are excited to announce the appointment of Marcus Embury as the Women’s Head Coach for the upcoming 2026 and 2027 NBL1 West seasons.
Marcus brings a dynamic blend of elite-level coaching experience and a strong background in education and athlete development. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach with the Townsville Fire in the WNBL and as a Performance Analyst with the Australian Opals, where he contributed to the Opals 2025 Asia Cup gold medal campaign through advanced statistical analysis and opposition scouting.
Marcus has also been the Lead Assistant Coach for the Championship Women’s team at Bulleen Basketball since 2023, helping guide the team to two championships and a Grand Final appearance. His responsibilities have included opposition scouting, gameday preparation, player skill development, and advanced metric analysis.
With a teaching background and over a decade of coaching experience across junior and senior programs—including roles at Kilsyth, Waverley, and Solway Basketball—Marcus is known for his ability to build strong relationships with athletes and tailor his coaching approach to support both individual growth and team success.
