Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Association is one of Western Australia’s leading community basketball organisations, delivering domestic competitions and grassroots programs across Perth’s western suburbs.

As our competitions and participation programs continue to grow, we are seeking a Competitions & Programs Coordinator to support the day-to-day delivery of our domestic competitions and grassroots initiatives.
This is a hands-on, operational role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating multiple moving parts, and being at the centre of live sport delivery. The role may be appointed on a part-time or full-time basis, depending on experience, availability, and operational needs.
About the Role
As Competitions & Programs Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring our competitions run smoothly and professionally. You will work closely with clubs, referees, officials, venues, volunteers, and staff to deliver organised, well-run competitions and programs.
The role involves scheduling, registrations, on-site coordination, and regular communication with stakeholders. Some evening and weekend work may be required during competition periods.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the delivery of domestic basketball competitions

Create and maintain fixtures, ladders, and schedules using PlayHQ

Manage registrations, team entries, and withdrawals

Liaise with referees, officials, clubs, and venue staff

Respond to competition enquiries, incidents, and complaints

Support grassroots programs, clinics, and participation initiatives

Roster and support casual staff and officials

Act as an on-site point of contact during competitions
About You
This role will suit you if you:

Have experience coordinating sports competitions, programs, or events

Are organised, reliable, and calm under pressure

Are confident using PlayHQ or similar competition systems

Communicate clearly with clubs, officials, volunteers, and families

Can work independently and make sound operational decisions
Requirements

Availability to work evenings and weekends if required
-
Comprehensive understanding of and demonstrated skills in using Play HQ software (or equivalent).
- Experience in fixturing competitions

Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)

First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
